Allcooper announces new charity partnership with Wooden Spoon

To support Securitas UK in its goal to raise thousands of pounds for Wooden Spoon, Allcooper is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Gloucestershire and Bristol branches of the children's charity.

Wooden Spoon is the official charity partner of Securitas UK.

Following the acquisition of Allcooper by Securitas in 2019, our Gloucestershire-based electronic security team will be supporting Wooden Spoon by attending their events and organising internal fundraising activities.

As the children’s charity of rugby, Wooden Spoon funds projects to support children and young people with disabilities or living in disadvantage. Since 1983, it has funded over 1,000 projects across the UK and Ireland, totalling over £28 million.

In Gloucestershire, Wooden Spoon has raised more than £540,000 and supported over 20 projects since 2002. These projects aim to improve the lives of children and young people within the local Gloucestershire community. Current projects they are supporting include the Chamwell Centre, the James Hopkins Trust and the delivery of mixed ability rugby at special schools across the county.

The majority of Wooden Spoon's fundraising is done through the support of local businesses and by running community events. These events run throughout the year and include anything from annual dinners, quiz nights and race days. The dinners alone have contributed £150,000 to worthy projects in Gloucestershire.

Commenting on the new partnership, Ian Lindsay, Head of Business Development at Wooden Spoon, said:

"It is fantastic to be the official charity partner of Allcooper and we look forward to working with them in 2020 and beyond. There are some exciting fundraising events planned for this year - including the introduction of a payroll giving service and an attempt at kayaking the Irish Sea in the summer!"

Tony Symonds, Marketing Executive at Allcooper, explained:

"We are delighted to begin a new partnership with Wooden Spoon. Not only does this allow us to align our charitable activity with Securitas, it means we will be doing our bit to support a variety of charity projects in our local community."
