It's just over six months since we moved in to our current head office here in Kingsholm, Gloucester.
OK, so we know the area is much more famous for being home to our neighbours, Gloucester Rugby, but we are truly delighted to have become a part of the local community.
We're also very proud to have spent the previous 20 years at our site in Hucclecote, where we enjoyed many successful years growing the business. That site is sadly no more, but is in the process of being regenerated with the build of a new superstore for local residents to enjoy.
When the business decided to acquire the site of the old SAAB garage in September 2015, we committed to regenerating the existing building and bringing our operation closer to the centre of the city. Make no mistake, transforming the site would be a huge project. The building was originally built and used for the motor trade, so careful planning was needed to change its main function to become an office space.
In the 18 months that followed the acquisition, an incredible amount of work took place involving a really tight-knit team of local contractors and tradesmen. The project was headed up by Allcooper Group Director, Roman Cooper, with the support of his fellow board members and father, Gary Cooper. Now retired, Gary is joint founder of the business but still pops into the office to offer a helping hand where he can.
The business successfully moved in to the newly-refurbished site in June 2017. Six months' on, and we're pleased to look back on a successful first half a year in Kingsholm.
Before and after
In true #ThrowbackThursday style, we've been sharing before and after images on our social media channels to remind ourselves of how much the building has changed. Take a look at the images below and let us know what you think by tweeting us or commenting on Facebook!
