The King’s School, Worcester is a nationally renowned, independent day school located close to the centre of Worcester. Re-founded by King Henry VIII in 1541, the site sits adjacent to Worcester Cathedral and is bursting with history. Some areas of the school date back as early as the tenth century.
Presently, The King’s School educates over 1,500 pupils across its historic foundation, which includes the senior school and two junior schools.
Blending security and fire protection into such a unique environment required an experienced and responsive provider who could review the existing intruder and fire alarm systems, and provide a plan to bring their maintenance up to a higher standard.
Allcooper were selected by The King’s School, Worcester following a successful tender exercise. The existing systems were extensive, with protection required for over 35 individual areas across the school site.
Every system was thoroughly assessed and tested by Allcooper’s dedicated takeover engineers, so a strategic security and safety review could be created for the school’s estate management team.
Where areas of the systems required attention, recommendations were made to upgrade equipment using the latest technology. Allcooper identified that there were no provisions in place for system monitoring, which would be crucial to minimising risk to the school. This was addressed with a site-wide solution that would give the school instant alarm notifications and peace of mind, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
